Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to elderly residents in a care home setting. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being while fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised care to clients according to their individual care plans, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management, including signing in and ordering medication.
* Supervise and support a small group of carers, providing guidance and leadership to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
* Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any changes in their condition, adhering to confidentiality protocols.
* Participate in regular training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
* Drive initiatives that promote resident engagement and participation in activities within the care home.
* Complete care assessments and plans, along with reviewing these regularly with clients.
Skills
* Strong understanding of senior care principles and practices, with experience in developing and implementing care plans.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and their families.
* Leadership qualities that enable you to supervise a team while fostering a supportive environment.
* Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes.
* Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the quality of life for clients within the care home setting.
* A compassionate approach towards elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times.
Requirements:
* For the managers role we would like NVQ Level 3 and be in senior position. At least 3 years experience. Experience in care planning and rotas.
* For the Team Leader NVQ level 2 with at least 2 years experience.
