Hours: 40 per week
A leading independent boarding and day school for girls aged 3 - 18 with a co-ed preschool in Winchester, Hampshire. Catering for just over 900 students and teachers daily. Our core feeding offer includes breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, dinner, match teas, hospitality, and external lettings throughout the year. This operation runs 7 days a week, with shift patterns typically 5 days over 7. Roles may be term-time only or full-year, and the location offers free on-site parking.
We are seeking a talented Chef De Partie to join our team at one of our prestigious Winchester locations.
Schedule: 5 days over 7, including some evenings and weekends.
Ideal candidates will have previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level. You should be passionate about working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating bespoke menus, showcasing your culinary skills.
Key responsibilities:
* Work effectively within a team of chefs to provide catering services to pupils and staff.
* Prepare food from scratch using fresh ingredients, adhering to brand standards.
* Maintain high food standards and control wastage.
* Follow Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies, and allergen control procedures.
Required skills:
* Genuine interest in food and excellent customer service skills.
* Team player with a collaborative approach.
* Creative with a passion for quality food.
* Organized with attention to detail.
* Understanding of food costs and wastage management.
Knowledge and competencies:
* Good verbal English skills.
* Good written and reading skills in English.
* Experience in customer service or food preparation preferred.
