Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Portsmouth
Are you looking for a supportive yet ambitious school to complete your ECT induction?
Do you have a passion for working with a range of backgrounds to provide the best possible education?
To start in September 2024, we are looking for ECTs to join a Portsmouth school within our network. In return for your involvement with our students and providing excellent education, we offer a well-structured, supportive, and personalized ECT induction.
The highlights of our ECT induction include:
1. Support from an in-school mentor and an Ark ECT tutor
2. Training sessions both in-person and online to suit your schedule
3. Wellbeing prioritized through an additional training module, weekly calls with your ECT tutor, and an employee assistance line available 24/7
4. Goals and targets set based on you as an individual in manageable chunks, rather than a one-size-fits-all program
As part of Ark, being an ECT within our network allows you to contribute to our mission of providing excellent education to all children, regardless of background.
Benefits of being part of our Portsmouth schools and wider network include:
1. Each Ark school is unique, sharing core values but with its own character based on the SLT, teachers, and pupils
2. Ark pay scales – 2.5% above current teacher pay scales for England
3. Training – double the amount of training within working hours and additional INSET days, allowing you to choose courses aligned with your interests and goals
4. Career progression – opportunities to complete NPQ or Master’s qualifications while working
5. Enrichment and extracurricular activities – involvement in Ark Music, Ark Sport, or running your own enrichment based on your skills and interests
6. The three Portsmouth schools: two primary schools, Ark Ayrton and Ark Dickens, and one secondary, Ark Charter Academy, supported by two Regional Directors focusing on primary and secondary education
