Job description:
We are currently looking for a seasonal Warehouse and Forklift Operative to join the growing Gates team. The role is primarily warehouse based and includes delivering goods between buildings, but will also include a variety of other on-site tasks in response to demand. You will work five days a week, from Tuesday to Saturday.
The role:
* Delivering goods between the delivery centre, warehouse and retail buildings
* Warehouse inventory
* Picking items with a high degree of accuracy
* Using a computer to book items for dispatch
* Liaising with couriers in order that items are packaged correctly
* Loading and unloading of deliveries safely
* A physical approach to handling items
* Maintaining good housekeeping standards in the warehouse
* Working as part of successful team
The ideal candidate:
* Must have Forklift experience
* Ideally have Reach Truck and JCB experience but not essential
* Warehouse experience is preferable, but not essential if the candidate has a willing attitude and a can-do approach
* Must enjoy working outdoors all year in a highly practical role
* Experience in working with couriers and dispatch procedures
* Basic computer skills
* Attention to detail and takes pride in their work
* Flexible approach to working
* Great customer service skills
* A positive approach to working both independently and as part of a team
* Smart personal appearance
* Clean UK driving licence

Summary:
Gates is seeking a target driven, customer focused Seasonal Sales Assistant for its expanding outdoor living and Christmas department. We are heading towards the winter months when we launch our Christmas showrooms focusing on selling Christmas lighting and accessories and keeping the department looking its best.
This is an interesting and varied role in one of our largest departments, offering an inspirational range of outdoor living products from January to September, including garden furniture, barbecues and pizza ovens, outdoor lighting and heating, garden shade and decorative accessories.
Responsibilities – Christmas:
* Keeping shelves topped up, clean, tidy and priced
* Excellent product knowledge to assist customers with purchases
* Visible enthusiasm for the holiday season
Sales:
* Excellent product knowledge in order to maximise sales, give product advice and answer customer queries
* Ensure that sales targets are met and, where possible, exceeded
* Confident in approaching customers
* Provide customers with excellent levels of customer service
* Ensure customers have the best shopping experience
* Deal with customer complaints and enquiries, providing the best possible outcome
* Keep the store looking its best, ensuring stock is priced, clean and presentable at all times
Visual Merchandising:
* Attract, engage and motivate customers to make purchases through displaying stock.
About you:
* You will have previous retail experience, with a proven track record in sales
