We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team on a part time basis at HMP Wealstun, a busy Category C male training and resettlement prison near Wetherby.

Hours and Pay
Part‑time, 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00‑17:00. No weekends or bank holidays. Salary: up to £29,723 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties
* Work within the onsite pharmacy, joining a team of 14
* Support Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
* Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions
* Second check controlled drugs
* Contribute to medicine reconciliation, stock management and medicine transportation
* Ensure a safe and secure medicines‑management service, following policies, procedures and SOPs

Our New Pharmacy Dispenser Will Have
* An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
* Experience within a pharmacy environment – community, hospital or prison/secure setting
* Experience in a patient/customer‑facing role
* A non‑judgmental and compassionate approach
