We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators worldwide, covering the full project cycle from business case to delivery and maintenance. Responsibilities
* Delivering and planning the development, design and implementation of light rail, tramway and bus rapid transit projects
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring while ensuring adherence to health and safety policy and procedures
* Lead engineering solutions on multi-disciplinary project teams, meeting client requirements, programme, and budget
* Manage technical interfaces and integration across disciplines to deliver coherent solutions
* Ensure high quality in all deliverables through diligent checking and collaboration with discipline experts
* Provide inputs to bid proposals and submissions
* Engage in business development through attentive customer care with clients
* Mentor and develop junior staff
Candidate specification
The Successful Candidate Will Meet The Following Criteria
* Degree qualified (B.Eng Hons or equivalent) in Civil or Highway Engineering or related discipline, or Masters degree (M.Eng or equivalent), or extensive equivalent experience
* A Chartered Engineer with a proven record of technical leadership on light rail, tramway or bus rapid transit infrastructure projects
* Experience in multi-disciplinary design projects, including planning technical schedules with resources, leading teams of multi-disciplinary engineers and ensuring integration
* Understanding of light rail, tramway or bus rapid transit standards and ability to work at a strategic level with clients
* Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) with colleagues, professionals, and clients at all levels
* Experience preparing fee proposals, contributing to business development, and building successful client relationships
Required skills
* Knowledge of light rail / tramways principles and design standards such as Manual for Streets
* Experience using BIM to coordinate design inputs
* Ability to work in complex multi-disciplinary environments, following best practice and international equivalents
* Experience preparing light rail, tramway or bus rapid transit designs from planning through to detailed construction, with standard details and technical specifications
* Understanding of health and safety responsibilities
Additional qualifications
* Experience with systems engineering and requirements management on major projects (advantageous)
* Experience coordinating multiple disciplines and ensuring integration and interface management
* Experience providing engineering proof of evidence in statutory inquiries or similar processes
* Experience in public and stakeholder consultation
* Experience coordinating scheme development with business case work and ensuring consistency
* Experience with on-street track design and construction
* Experience in maintenance and renewal of tramway or light rail infrastructure
* Experience with applying CSM-RA to rail or light rail projects
* Experience managing operational light rail or tramway systems including performance and demand management
