Position: Mechanic
As a Mechanic, your duties will include cutting, assembling, fabricating, and testing gear reducers, motors, industrial and hydraulic hoses, components, and linear shafting. You will work from predetermined production orders, selecting the necessary components to assemble and complete assigned jobs. Additional responsibilities involve active participation in operational excellence initiatives through continuous improvement projects, on-the-job training, schools, and online courses.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review work orders, customer specifications, manufacturer catalogs, bill of materials, and instructions, whether written or verbal.
2. Handle the receiving and shipping of parts and assemblies.
3. Visually inspect inventory to ensure proper functioning, identification, and compliance with customer specifications for reducers, shafting, and hoses.
4. Assemble gearing, hoses, and shafting according to customer specifications and quality standards.
5. Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and proper receiving procedures.
6. Keep a clean and safe working environment.
7. Reduce complexity by driving standardization in data and processes, meeting customer expectations, and minimizing downtime.
8. Perform regular preventive maintenance on shop equipment such as oil changes and cleaning.
9. Identify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, or unusual conditions to the Team Leader.
Position Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Specialized training in power transmission and fluid power is a plus.
3. Comfortable working with computers.
4. Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
5. Experience with SAP is preferred.
