Centenary House is a large, pet friendly, residential Life House in Belfast, accommodating vulnerable males over 18 years of age, who are experiencing homelessness.

We have a great opportunity for a Support Worker, day position. Our Support Workers are responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control. Our support workers identify & address client support needs, enable them to achieve positive life changes and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles while working as part of a team to achieve contractual and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct regular client support plan reviews, completing and updating individual support plans; within contractual timeframes and work with clients to achieve their identified goals in accordance with The Salvation Army policy.
* Work with colleagues to design and deliver a range of in-house support provisions designed to achieve successful outcomes.
* Complete and review client’s assessments including risk assessments, within contractual timeframes, using a person-centred and trauma sensitive approach.
* Support successful transitions for prison leavers back into the community.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

* Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by people experiencing homelessness.
* Ability to work in a busy environment and can demonstrate ability to make decisions under pressure.
* Knowledge of the benefits system and an understanding local housing legislation and how to advocate and maximise housing points.
* Ability to use your initiative in problem solving for the benefit of clients and colleagues.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience in harm reduction and support people in active addiction.
* Ability to work alongside the Criminal justice department.
* NISCC registration is also required for the post.
