Description Costain M60 Highways framework have a fantastic opportunity for The Finance Analyst / Project Accountant to work closely with the Head of Finance in a Project Accounting role. The role will support the Project and Commercial Management teams to enable continued growth of the business providing financial insight, strong operational control, timely reporting, and robust management of accounts receivable and payable for sector. LI-JK1 Responsibilities Responsibilities To assist in the month end close and reporting cycle Assist HOF with recharges, unallocated balances and adhoc reconciliations for the roads sector Support financial and management reporting through CLR reports (Contract Leaders Report) Assist in Project Cash Flow forecast and preparation Management of the PBA Bank account, payments and reconciliations Develop and maintain strong team relationships at all levels of the business, including working collaboratively with our stakeholders. Staff Calculator ownership, challenge charges and time charged to the project as well as staff allocation of time across project. Inputting cost journals with relevant procedures with appropriate approval and communication. Financial Controls Investigate & respond to queries from Group Finance team as required. Monitor best practice of PO, GRNI and invoice matching processes and manage the monthly Purchase Card reconciliation and journal reallocations. Monitoring of all central recharges, challenging and reconciling Management and administration of the AMS IT cost for staff to ensure accuracy. Provide financial support, insight and validity for Commercial requirements Provide support for supplying the correct and appropriate information to Internal, External and Client Auditors Adhoc duties to support HOF Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential experience in a finance role Experience of process and systems optimisation. Collaboration with stakeholders and identifying financial anomalies. Desirable experience in managing cashflows and working capital management. Working with Oracle Enterprise One, or similar ERP system desirable. Understands the importance of resilience in facing challenges. Adapts quickly to change in project plans or unexpected issues. Demonstrates persistence in completing tasks despite challenges. Encourages resilience in others, providing support and fostering a positive work environment. Can prepare basic management reporting, can make basic interpretations of management information and reports and provide simple comments and insight, accurately interpret basic financial reports. Able to interrogate and explain cost entries. Can prepare and present management reporting and explain financial themes and relevant insights under supervision/guidance, can communicate financial results to non-finance communities and articulate results, challenges and risks, can identify trends within the numbers and takes appropriate action or communicates to management. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of accounting records and systems including nominal ledger coding structures. Can review ledgers to ensure accuracy. Understands requirement for separation of duties and able to identify potential areas of risk. Understands the purpose of internal controls and ensures they are followed. Excellent communication skills, with confidence to present to senior stakeholders. Ability to think strategically, challenge current processes and introduce improvements. Qualifications Essential Part Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
