Job Description
Sterling Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced CAD Engineer to join our client based in Leeds. In this role, you will lead the delivery and management of civil engineering CAD design, utilizing the latest Autodesk software in 3D and 2D graphics to BIM Level 2 standards. Your responsibilities will include preparing construction details such as structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, and temporary works. You should be adaptable to work with various BIM platforms like BIM360 and ProjectWise, and proficient in different 3D modeling software.
You will be expected to manage your workload independently, delegate tasks, and mentor a small but growing team.
Responsibilities:
1. Produce, amend, and maintain 3D CAD model data within a common data environment, working independently or as part of a project team.
2. Develop 3D modeling and engineering skills actively.
3. Ensure CAD models comply with JGL internal QA, project/client standards, and industry BIM procedures.
4. Assist senior engineering design staff as required.
5. Identify and resolve spatial constraint and arrangement issues.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Degree or HND (or equivalent) related to the built environment.
* Fluent in English, with GCSE or equivalent qualifications.
* Minimum of 5 years experience with Autodesk products.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D and Civil 3D.
* Experience with steelwork detailing, RC detailing, and working in a civil engineering environment.
* Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to CAD standards.
* Ability to build effective relationships across organizational levels.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Experience with other 3D modeling packages such as AECO-sim, Micro-station, and Project-wise.
* Knowledge of visualization techniques and BIM Level 2 processes.
