The Ecology Partnership are currently looking for Seasonal Field Surveyors for assistance on a range of survey work throughout the 2026 survey season. The position is a six-month fixed term contract, starting in April. You will assist our full-time team members with protected species survey work for bats, great crested newts, dormice and reptiles with some office time anticipated for data entry and analysis. This is an entry-level role suitable for candidates seeking to gain practical field experience in ecology, and who hold or are working towards, a relevant degree in ecology or a related field. The role would be a great introductory position into ecology and would be an ideal position for a recent graduate with a relevant degree in ecology or a related field. This is a predominantly field-based role, with approximately 70–80% of working time spent undertaking outdoor field surveys and 20–30% spent on office-based tasks such as data entry and analysis. The balance may vary depending on survey schedules and weather conditions. Fieldwork may involve early morning, evening or occasional weekend surveys in line with ecological survey requirements. The role may involve some lone working, managed in accordance with Health and Safety procedures. Full training will be provided however the ideal candidates should have: Full UK drivers licence, as the role requires travel between multiple field sites and the company’s head office. Have a keen interest in wildlife and conservation. IT proficient. Be a good communicator and a team player. The Ecology Partnership are a successful ecological consultancy with a friendly and supportive team located close to River Mole nature reserve and Junction 9 of the M25. We would be very interested in hearing from candidates who would like to assist us over the coming survey season. The survey role will largely be based out of our Leatherhead office, with the majority of work undertaken on external field sites across the region and neighbouring regions. People able to assist with survey work in Surrey, West / East Sussex and Kent will be of particular interest. The role involves extensive walking over uneven terrain, regular bending, and carrying survey equipment on large-scale sites. These physical activities are an essential requirement of the role. The role requires a good level of physical fitness, as it involves carrying out survey work on large-scale sites, including regular bending and lifting.
