Role Overview
We are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Manchester. This position offers a permanent daytime role with excellent stability and career progression opportunities.
Location: Manchester
Working Days: Monday‑Friday | 8:00am–5:00pm
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production equipment
* Work on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and pneumatic systems
* Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
* Ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely
* Assist with installations and equipment upgrades
* Complete maintenance documentation accurately
Requirements
* Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)
* Previous experience within manufacturing, production, or industrial environments
* Strong mechanical fault‑finding and maintenance skills
* Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics desirable
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good understanding of health & safety regulations
