Overview
Apprentice Early Years Educator required at Rosedene Northallerton. You will gain a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification while working with children aged 6 weeks to 11 years. The role involves organising resources, maintaining high standards of care, and supporting children’s developmental progress.
Responsibilities
* Ensure high standards in all aspects of care and development in line with the EYFS.
* Organise resources for activities and experiences in the nursery.
* Assist in enhancing children’s developmental progress and implement the daily routine.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and good housekeeping.
* Apply the principles of risk assessment, health and safety, and safeguarding to protect children’s wellbeing.
* Teach children to manage risk and maintain their own and others’ safety.
* Use a range of communication methods, including technology, to meet each child’s individual needs.
* Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with colleagues and other professionals.
* Undertake the role and responsibilities of key person.
* Provide sensitive and respectful personal care for children from birth to 5 years and advocate for children requiring SEND or EAL support.
* Promote children’s interpersonal communication, social interactions, and positive identity.
* Support children to understand and manage their emotions and make considered choices about their behaviours.
* Assess the environment to provide effective child‑centred experiences in line with curriculum requirements.
* Create inclusive, innovative, and evolving physical and emotional environments indoors and outdoors.
* Apply strategies that support children’s ability to manage change, transition, and significant events.
* Analyse observation evidence to plan holistic individual learning.
* Facilitate and support child‑centred opportunities and experiences based on the setting’s curriculum and pedagogy.
* Use reflection to develop personal and professional skills.
Qualifications & Skills
* Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or to be completed through apprenticeship).
* Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required).
* End‑Point Assessment (EPA) completion.
* Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR).
* Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).
* Paediatric First Aid Level 3 (RQF) or Emergency Level 3 Award.
* Strong communication, IT, and organisational skills.
* Attention to detail, problem‑solving, presentation, and administrative skills.
* Teamworking, creativity, initiative and non‑judgemental attitude.
* Patience and a willingness to learn.
Apprenticeship Details
The training schedule will be agreed at a later date and can be adjusted to reflect skills already acquired. The apprenticeship will lead to a Level 3 Award in Early Years Education.
Working Hours
Open 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, 51 weeks a year. The role is a 30‑hour week (subject to confirmation). Work days are Monday to Friday with a start date of Monday 17 November 2025 for a duration of 1 year 3 months.
Salary
£11,778 for the first year, potentially increasing with experience. National Minimum Wage rates for apprentices will be applied as per current legislation.

Rosedene Northallerton is situated within the Standard Way Industrial Estate, close to Northallerton High Street. The nursery is Ofsted‑rated Good and offers a range of extra‑curricular programmes such as Holiday Club, Breakfast Club, Afterschool Club, and school pick‑up/drop‑off. The setting is a high‑quality, child‑centred environment that encourages curiosity and learning both indoors and outdoors.
