Location and Details
* Location: Warwick, Warwickshire
* Hours: Full-time (term-time only)
* Start Date: ASAP or negotiable
* Salary: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and forward-thinking school in Warwick. You will be working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour due to a range of social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding and dynamic role ideal for someone with experience in behaviour management, youth work, special education, or a similar field.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils in developing positive behaviour strategies
* Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement individual behaviour plans
* Build trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and supported
* Promote emotional wellbeing and social development
* Assist with classroom activities and learning goals
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour (in schools, youth work, or care settings)
* A calm, compassionate, and firm approach
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills
* A genuine passion for inclusion and helping every child reach their potential
* Team player with a flexible attitude
Desirable (but not essential)
* Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
* Knowledge of SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or trauma-informed approaches
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, Psychology degree, etc.)
