About the Role
We have an exciting role of a supervising social worker within the kinship support team.
We are looking for a qualified social worker with experience in fostering services or statutory social care.
The role involves providing support to approved kinship foster carers with the children in their care, and it includes:
* Providing regular supervision to the kinship foster families.
* Supporting the kinship foster families to meet the Fostering Services National Minimum Standards.
* Providing practical and emotional support to the kinship foster families as well as advice and guidance.
* supporting and providing opportunities for the learning and development of the kinship foster families.
* Completing ongoing assessments of the kinship foster carer’s suitability to continue to care for the children in their care, including annual review reports.
* Dealing with the different daily challenges of kinship placements.
A DBS-enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
* Social Work degree or equivalent,. CQSW, DipSW (with a specialism in children’s services).
* Post-qualification experience of working with children and families.
* The ability to prioritise effectively across a wide range of competing demands to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of Childcare legislation and LSCB procedures, particularly in relation to child protection.
* The Ability to communicate clearly (demonstrating the use of communication/engagement tools) with children, young people, parents/carers, colleagues and other professionals.
* The ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of people, including representatives from other agencies, using skills of negotiation and persuasion
* Ability to undertake assessments and reports to a high standard.
You must also have an understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
In addition, we also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
