The Role:
A vacancy has arisen for a Technical Support Manager based at our Head Office. We are seeking a knowledgeable, motivated individual to monitor performance and provide technical support across all Cherry Valley Farms (UK) Ltd breeding-stock operations.
The successful candidate will become familiar with all aspects of duck production, including genetic selection, husbandry, nutrition, veterinary practices and processing techniques. The role will also serve as an interface between R&D and Technical/ Sales.
This position can involve UK and overseas travel.
Key Responsibilities are:
• Managing the ‘technical desk’, fielding incoming technical questions, analysing data when required, disseminating information and coordinating technical support.
• Assisting in the management and operation of all CVF sites.
• Monitoring flock performance and maintaining the CVF breeding flock database.
• Produce technical publications including CVF technical manuals, technical information sheets and various in-house and external magazine publications.
• Involvement in ‘technical exchanges’. Coordinating/hosting technical visits for customers visiting the UK and making presentations for seminars when needed. This will include travel within the UK and overseas.
• Assist with projects in collaboration with the Genetics and R&D department.
• Develop personal skills and capability through ongoing training, as provided by CVF or elsewhere, subject to approval. Maintaining knowledge in relevant fields at all times.
• Ensure compliance with CVF’s biosecurity regulations.
• Ensure health and safety standards are in line with company policy.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Agriculture (desirable)
• Experience within poultry production (breeding experience desirable).
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills using Microsoft office.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present confidently.
• A professional and organised approach.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
