HGV Technician - Joining Bonus of £1,500
Biffa Waste - Gorton Depot (Site is undergoing re-development)
Pay Rate: £19.22 p/h
Shift Pattern: Early and Lates rotating one week of each - Overtime & Call Out Available
Monday to Friday (45 hrs per week)
You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment to meet health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements. You will also carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa's operator's licence commitments. Our fleet ranges from light commercial vans up to 44t articulated specialist assets, offering a diverse fleet with opportunities to learn and develop your technical knowledge.
We are looking for professionals that may have had the previous roles - PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic. If you are a skilled or semi-skilled Technician, we would still love to hear from you as we can offer upskilling and career development.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair vehicles and waste management handling equipment to meet health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements.
* Carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet operator's licence commitments.
* Work with a diverse fleet from light commercial vans to 44t articulated assets.
Qualifications
* Fully skilled with a full Level 3 HGV / PSV apprenticeship qualification / City and Guilds / NVQ qualification.
* Technician level.
* Must have a minimum of a car/van driving licence.
* HGV licence desirable.
* IRTEC qualification desirable.
