Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Qualified Social Workers to join a busy team at a Leedsbased within the Looked After Children team. To work in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level, and have post-qualified experience.

Primary Responsibilities as an IRO:
5. Monitor the performance of the Local Authority of their functions in relation to the child’s care plan.
6. Ensure plans for children are based on detailed and informed assessment, are up to date, effective and provide a real and genuine response to each child’s needs.
7. Highlight and prevent any ‘drift’ in care planning for looked after children and the delivery of services to them.
8. Confidently challenge any deficits in the quality or delivery of the child’s care plan either informally or through the statutory Dispute Resolution Process.
9. Chair statutory Looked After Child Reviews in line with regulatory requirements, and liaise appropriately with operational staff
10. Ensure that any ascertained wishes and feelings of the child are given due consideration by the Local Authority
As an IRO, you are required to:
11. Candidates must have at least 5 years post qualifying experience as a social worker within child protection/ children looked after services
12. Candidates must hold a relevant Social Work Qualification (DipSW, Degree in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England.
13. Comprehensive and current knowledge of Legislation, Guidance and Regulations relating to looked after children, care leavers, adoption, safeguarding and child protection
