The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance Lead to oversee day-to-day engineering activities and lead a small team on-site.
You’ll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to breakdowns, and ensuring production downtime is kept to a minimum.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer ready to take the next step into leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support the maintenance team to deliver high-quality PPMs and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain production and site facilities, ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently.
• Manage engineering tools, parts, and consumables in line with 5S standards.
• Champion Health and Safety compliance at all times.
• Accurately record maintenance work within the CMMS system.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects and performance KPIs.
What We’re Looking For
• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / ONC (Electrical or Mechanical).
• 3+ years’ maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proven experience with PPM and fault finding.
• Ability to lead and motivate others within a small, multi-skilled team.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC motors, control panels, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Organised and methodical approach with good attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
• Background in glass manufacturing or other heavy industry.
• Basic PLC fault finding.
• Experience with Lean and CI tools such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and RCA.
• IOSH or NEBOSH Health and Safety qualification.
