Mechanical Engineer £50 - £60k Pension, Life Assurance, Flexi-Time Cheshire Ref: 25137 Mechanical Engineer - The Role: Lead technical analysis and concept development within the Engineering team. Take responsibility for the structural integrity of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with customer, legislative and safety requirements. Perform stress, fatigue and non-linear FEA calculations to support design decisions. Produce test specifications, acceptance criteria and technical reports. Apply relevant standards and design criteria, including Eurocodes. Oversee in-house and outsourced engineering activities and conduct design reviews. Liaise with customers to confirm scope, manage deliverables and support project delivery. Plan and manage engineering programmes, workloads and resources. Investigate non-conforming products and drive problem resolution and continuous improvement. Support the training and development of engineering staff. Mechanical Engineer - The Person: Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, with Chartered status desirable. Strong knowledge of structural behaviour, materials and fatigue performance. Proven experience in design development and FEA, including non-linear analysis. Experience applying Eurocodes and assessing structural integrity. Familiar with fabricated aluminium and steel structures and manufacturing processes. Competent in 3D CAD tools and engineering analysis software. Strong analytical, communication and technical reporting skills. Well-organised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Willing to travel in the UK and overseas; holds a full driving licence. German language skills are advantageous. Located in Cheshire, this role would be commutable from Wilmslow, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Alderly Edge and more.
