Main duties of the job
1. Deliver care and treatment as delegated by qualified professionals, utilizing a range of technical skills.
2. Assist in providing care to private patients under the supervision of a registered midwife.
3. Facilitate care for newborn babies, support new mothers, and ensure safe clinical practices in both labour and postnatal wards.
4. Demonstrate flexibility in supporting the needs of mothers and babies.

Essential criteria
5. Evidence of relevant childcare qualification or HCSW Level 3 Apprenticeship
Desirable criteria
6. Evidence of continuous professional development
7. Lactation Consultant qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
8. Previous postnatal ward experience
9. Able to demonstrate knowledge of clinical role in the Nursery Setting within a hospital
10. Care of the newborn
11. Able to provide Infant Feeding support and advice
Desirable criteria
12. Able to demonstrate knowledge of the role of the neonatal Nursery Nurse in the community setting
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities
