SEN Teaching Assistant Location: York, North Yorkshire Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time / Term Time Only Pay: £88 – £105 per day GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supply team and support a specialist school in York. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASC), non-verbal communication, behavioural needs, and SEMH profiles. About the Role as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant: Provide tailored support to children and young people with complex needs, including Autism and SEMH. Use patience, empathy, and resilience to engage students in their learning and daily routines. Support non-verbal students with alternative communication methods. Manage challenging behaviour effectively, using positive behaviour strategies. Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver a personalised curriculum. SEN Teaching Assistant Ideal Requirements: Previous experience working with ASC, SEMH, or complex behavioural needs. A compassionate and resilient approach to supporting young people. Strong communication skills, including the ability to use non-verbal communication strategies. A genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.
