We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a global engineering group based in Poole, Dorset.
The company works with leading international companies in over 50 countries to deliver innovative engineering solutions addressing global trends such as clean energy, energy efficiency, healthcare, and increasing automation.
Hours of Work: Rotating shifts - double days. 2 weeks early then two weeks late.
Early Shift: Mon-Thurs 6am-2:15pm and Fri 6am-12pm; then rotates to Late Shift: Mon-Thurs 2:15pm-10:15pm and Fri 12pm-7:30pm.
37 hours per week, with additional hours as required to maintain department efficiency.
Shift allowance is not paid during periods of sickness.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on plant, equipment, buildings, and facilities of the site. This is a hands-on role aimed at maintaining and improving all aspects of the operational site.
Responsibilities:
1. Fault find within the machine shop environment and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems as appropriate.
2. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks on machines and equipment in line with the CMMS schedule.
3. Carry out comprehensive site maintenance across all areas, maintaining high standards of site facilities and environment.
4. Highlight opportunities for continuous improvement regarding plant and equipment reliability.
5. Work safely and tidily in accordance with company policies.
6. Perform other duties as reasonably required.
Requirements:
1. A formal, recognized apprenticeship related to the trade endorsed by EITB, EMTA, AMA, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
2. Fully skilled maintenance technician with mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical bias.
3. Practical fault-finding experience in a machine shop environment, with the ability to repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4. Understanding and application of safe working practices.
5. Positive, proactive attitude; ability to work calmly under pressure.
6. Good verbal and written communication skills.
7. Commitment to meeting deadlines and seeing jobs through to completion.
8. High attention to detail.
9. Desire to progress and succeed; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
10. PC literacy.
