Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Dinnington
Salary: £95 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education are partnering with a compassionate and inclusive school in Dinnington to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for individuals with a calm, empathetic, and resilient nature who are passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
* Implement strategies to help students regulate emotions and stay engaged
* Build trusting relationships and serve as a positive role model
* Support inclusive teaching and adapt materials as needed
* Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Experience supporting children/young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or SEND
* Confidence in de-escalation and remaining calm under pressure
* Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practices
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Relevant qualifications (, Level 2/3 TA Certificate or Psychology degree preferred)
