Job Description
As a Sales Manager, you will act as the face of a highly respected electronic manufacturing business, responsible for introducing new customers to the organisation and promoting its capability, culture, and technical strength. The role is focused primarily on new business development, building a strong pipeline of opportunities and engaging prospective customers across the UK. Once customers are onboarded, operational teams will take over delivery, allowing you to focus on driving further growth and opportunity creation.
This position involves researching and identifying potential customers, initiating contact through outreach, networking, LinkedIn engagement, and attending trade shows and industry events. A key part of the role is bringing customers into the factory environment, where the capability, quality, and people effectively sell themselves.
The Sales Manager must confidently communicate technical manufacturing capability in a clear and engaging way, particularly within contract electronics and production engineering environments. The role is long‑term focused, with expectations centred on building sustainable pipelines rather than immediate results.
The Sales Manager will also support the business in raising its profile through PR activity, digital engagement, and industry networking, while working closely with internal teams to align customer requirements with capability. There is also scope for the Sales Manager to evolve into a more senior leadership position over time, potentially overseeing wider geographic areas or additional team members as the business grows.
Skills & Experience
* Experience in a Sales Manager role within technical or manufacturing environments
* Background in contract electronics or production engineering highly desirable
* Strong ability to build relationships and generate new business opportunities
* Confident communicator able to engage senior decision‑makers
* Experience in pipeline development and proactive business development
* Ability to work independently and manage own schedule nationally
* Strong interpersonal skills with a personable, credible approach
* Experience using LinkedIn, networking events, trade shows and outreach campaigns
* Ability to analyse and present sales data effectively
