EFAB Resourcing are looking for a Dimensional Controller on a 6 month contract, based in Immingham working 39 hours per week. The Dimensional Controller will maintain the dimensional accuracy of work throughout fabrication activities and verify that final dimensions meet requirements associated with internal procedures, client specifications and international and national standards.
Accountabilities
• Adhere to internal and external requirements including those of national and international standards in relation to dimensional tolerances
• Perform dimensional control inspection of module structure, piping and structural works
• Perform final dimensional checks of manufactured items to ensure dimensional accuracy is maintained.
• Perform spot checks of dimensions of raw material and pre-weld set ups
• Complete accurate As Built drawings with actual measurements found as part of the dimensional verification checks
• Complete fabrication checklists to record inspections have been carried out
• Generate dimensional control reports where required
• Identify and report non-conformances to the Quality Department and support the root cause analysis and corrective action process.
• Ensure calibration status of equipment used
Competencies
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics and structural drawings
• Ability to advise appropriate rectifications based on knowledge and experience to correct out of tolerance dimensions
• Inspect in a manner to maintain production efficiency levels and without causing undue delay to subsequent activities
• Adheres to ISO9001 procedures
• Works with product delivery teams to effect quantity and quality
• Proactively maintains inspection records
• Interfaces with internal departments to ensure cohesive approach to quality and product delivery with clear lines of demarcation
• Has the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• Has detailed knowledge of customers' specific requirements and expectations, ensuring that the appropriate plans, specification, reviews and controls are in place
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Min 3 years of industrial experience, preferably within a pipefitting role.
• Experience in dimensional control inspections would be beneficial.
• Understanding of piping and structural drawings.
