Christchurch Town Council is seeking a proactive and community-minded individual to take on the role of Senior Assets and Operations Officer. This hands-on position is central to the effective management and maintenance of the Council's buildings, parks, allotments, and public spaces. You'll carry out inspections, coordinate repairs, and respond to minor maintenance needs directly. You'll also supervise contractors, support grounds and tree maintenance, and ensure health and safety compliance across all council assets. The role involves working closely with residents, community groups, and external partners to enhance local spaces, and includes preparing reports and presenting updates to committees.
We're looking for someone with a strong background in asset or facilities management, ideally within a public sector setting. You'll need a solid understanding of health and safety legislation, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. Confidence in carrying out basic repairs and practical tasks is essential, as is the ability to build effective relationships with contractors, councillors, and community stakeholders. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is required.
