Understanding and Experience
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s level degree (Level 6) or higher in a Science/ Engineering discipline (or be able to show demonstrated experience working at this academic level).
A successful applicant should have basic knowledge and experience in some or all of the following areas:
• Electronic design principals for measurement of voltage, current and resistance,
• Understanding of schematic and PCB design using an electronics CAD package,
• Electrical principals including power supplies and AC theory,
• Prototype build and test of electronic circuits,
• Use of laboratory electronic test equipment (Bench PSUs, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes etc.),
• Electrical principals of current rating, wire sizing and electrical crimping,
• Understanding of AC/DC circuits,
• Mechanical design using 2D and/or 3D CAD,
• Writing and presentation skills in English.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Working with the engineering team on the following:
• Design of electronic systems for measurement of voltage, current, resistance and impedance
• MK Test’s Automeg product line of computer programmable Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)
• Fault finding and debugging of electrical circuits
• Conducting factory and installation acceptance tests following set procedures
• Report writing for records of engineering investigation or formal acceptance procedures
• High voltage cable harness testing using established methods
• Systems and ergonomic design and layout to ensure all customer requirements are integrated into the design
• System test and qualification/acceptance procedure creation
• Support to Production and Operations teams in the manufacturing and testing of products
On occasion the following duties will also be required:
• Support to Customer Service Department in resolution of installation, commissioning and in-service issues or problems, either at the factory or customer premises
• Travel to customers’ premises, in the UK, Europe or Worldwide

Starting salary of £35k p.a.
This is a full-time role Monday-Friday at our head office in Wellington, Somerset.
