Cleaning Support Volunteer – Little Harwood Community Centre
Volunteering in community centres is extremely rewarding as you will meet people from all walks of life and make a positive difference in their lives.
The community centre volunteers are passionate about their centre and its activities, and we are looking for more dedicated individuals to help.
Blackburn with Darwen community centres are run by volunteers, each with unique skills vital to the centre's management. Volunteers play a crucial role in keeping community centres accessible for residents.
This role offers valuable experience and training opportunities.
As a cleaning support volunteer, you will ensure the building remains clean and tidy for all users. Responsibilities include various cleaning duties, following health and safety procedures to protect everyone in the centre.
Please note that all volunteers must have a DBS check, which will be arranged before starting.
* Dusting, polishing surfaces, and cleaning windows.
* Documenting routine inspections and maintenance activities.
* Performing deep cleaning periodically.
Required Qualities:
* Previous cleaning experience.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Adherence to health and safety standards.
* Versatility.
* Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team.
Training:
Training will be provided as needed, which may include peer support, distance learning, or trainer-led sessions.
