We are looking for an experienced Test Manager to play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the HR and Payroll systems as part of our People Services Transformation. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the testing process, managing resources, and contributing to the overall success of the project. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive test strategies, managing a testing team, collaborating with project stakeholders, overseeing test execution, resolving defects, and driving continuous improvement. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on experience in HRIS implementations, and the ability to adapt testing approaches in Agile environments. The Test Manager will play a crucial part in enhancing the employee experience during a transformative journey at First Bus.
Key Skills and Experience
1. 3 years+ previous experience of testing on major SaaS HCM transformation projects (E.g. Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle).
2. Knowledge and experience of testing within an Agile environment.
3. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide the testing team effectively.
4. In-depth understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.
5. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
6. In-depth knowledge of HR processes, including payroll, talent management, and employee lifecycle.
7. Previous experience managing and mentoring test leads and analysts.
8. Comprehensive understanding of various testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
9. Proven ability to tailor testing approaches based on project requirements.
10. Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex scenarios and devise innovative testing solutions.
11. Proactive identification and resolution of testing challenges.
12. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate testing strategies, issues, and resolutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
13. Proven ability to collaborate with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
14. Develop and implement detailed test strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
15. Collaborate with stakeholders (subject matter experts, regional Heads of HR, Technology and HRIS team etc) to define testing scope, objectives, and deliverables.
16. Manage a team of test leads and test analysts, ensuring optimal allocation of resources based on project needs.
17. Engage with cross-functional project teams to comprehend and translate system requirements into effective test scenarios and scripts.
18. Actively participate in design discussions to anticipate and address potential testing challenges.
19. Provide hands-on oversight of functional and non-functional testing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
20. Implement effective test execution strategies to identify, isolate, and report defects promptly.
21. Implement efficient processes for the identification, logging, tracking, and resolution of defects throughout the testing life cycle.
22. Collaborate with development and business teams to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
23. Continuously assess and enhance testing processes, methodologies, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
24. Proactively identify opportunities for automation and implement testing innovations to streamline workflows.
This role highly values practical experience in HR system implementations, and candidates with expertise in HR platforms such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, Ceridian, etc., will be highly regarded.
