L3Harris in Brighton are part of our Release Systems & Antennas division operating in the Aerospace domain. For over 70 years, L3Harris has designed and developed industry-leading carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary-wing and unmanned platforms and we design, manufacture and test a large portion of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility which offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon.

The Test Technician is responsible for conducting a range of tests in accordance with approved test specifications and procedures. The role requires the ability to read, understand, and accurately follow technical documentation while always maintaining strict adherence to health and safety requirements. The technician will support the test department in the efficient planning and completion of test campaigns, contributing to on-time delivery and continuous improvement. Accurate preparation, completion, and maintenance of test records and documentation form a key part of the role.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
10. Preparation and assembly of test rigs and fixtures.
11. Fitment and verification of test measurement instrumentation.
12. Operation of dedicated test facilities to conduct product development and production acceptance tests to defined test procedures including: Weapon Release / Climatic / Pressure / Structural / Vibration
13. Liaison with test engineering, design, and manufacturing departments
14. Recording test results and product handling using logbook system
15. Understanding safety in the workplace at all times.
16. Predominantly onsite at Brighton, with a flexible approach to work to meet project demands.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
17. Previous test experience
18. Mechanical skills / knowledge
19. Computer literacy
20. Fundamental knowledge of electrical systems & ability to understand simple wiring diagrams
21. Experience of electro-mechanical systems
22. Experience working with high pressure air systems
23. Experience in creation of Risk Assessments
24. Ability to analyse test results and draw conclusions
25. Ability to work independently or as a team to meet deadlines
26. Knowledge of continuous improvement to improve the efficiency of the testing service
