Our client is a reputable and forward-thinking construction consultancy based in Southwest London / Surrey, known for delivering high-quality cost management and advisory services across a diverse portfolio of projects. With strong growth plans and a collaborative working culture, they are now seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team.
Role Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Quantity Surveyor with approximately 2 years industry experience to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will gain exposure to both pre- and post-contract duties and will be supported in their development toward Chartership with the RICS. Candidates currently in a contractor environment will be considered, provided they have demonstrable pre-contract experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, cost plans and feasibility studies
* Support the development of tender documentation and bills of quantities
* Evaluate contractor proposals and conduct tender analysis
* Assist in contract administration and post-contract cost management
* Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders in a professional and proactive manner
* Contribute to project meetings and provide regular cost reporting
* Work collaboratively within the consultancy team while managing individual tasks autonomously
Requirements:
* 2 years' experience in Quantity Surveying within a consultancy or contractor environment
* Pre-contract experience is essential (especially for contractor-side candidates)
* Strong understanding of cost planning, estimating, and general QS processes
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
* Ambition to become RICS Chartered with clear commitment to the APC pathway
* Excellent communication, numerical, and analytical skills
* Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage time effectively
