Salary: GBP47,000–GBP52,000, dependent on experience
About the Role
My client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Dudley area. They are an expert in their field and provide engineering solutions to a variety of industries.
Qualifications & Attributes
* HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD operation position
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
* Proficient using 3D CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)
* Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Proficient in MS Office
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work well alone and as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
Responsibilities
* Use CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
* Liaise with manufacturing providers
* Be involved in final assembly of products
* Create required documentation for design, project reports, and plans
* Update 3D models and drawings
* Input parts into MRP system to create BOMs
* Check drawings for sign off
* Work in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
