About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Utility Surveyor to join our growing surveying team delivering utility mapping and locating services across Yorkshire. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, primarily within the region, with very limited travel requiring overnight stays. Key Responsibilities: Conduct underground utility surveys using a range of detection equipment (GPR, CAT & Genny, electromagnetic locators, etc.) Identify, map, and record the location and depth of existing utilities (gas, water, electric, telecoms, drainage) accurately Produce clear and detailed survey reports, drawings, and as-built information for client and project use Liaise directly with clients, site teams, and statutory authorities to ensure utility information is comprehensive and reliable Support health and safety compliance on site, including risk assessments and method statements Assist with data processing and integrating survey findings into CAD or GIS platforms as needed Maintain and calibrate utility survey equipment Candidate Requirements: 3 to 6 years’ experience in utility surveying or similar field operations Competent with utility detection and mapping equipment (e.g., GPR, Vivax, Radiodetection) Experience in producing utility plans and reports to a high standard Strong understanding of underground service safety and relevant industry standards Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on site Good communication skills and comfortable liaising with clients and project teams Willingness to travel locally across Yorkshire; very few overnight stays expected Desirable: Formal qualifications or certifications in utility surveying or underground asset detection Experience with CAD software or GIS systems CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification What We Offer: Stable, locally focused work with minimal travel disruption Supportive team environment and ongoing professional development Competitive salary and benefits package
