Role: Lecturer – Motor Vehicle
Location: Bedford College – Brunel Road Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is £33,048 to £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications. 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, and professional development opportunities. (Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.)
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About The Role
* Deliver Motor Vehicle Training – Teach and assess light vehicle maintenance and repair across various courses and qualification levels.
* Support Student Success – Guide learners through tutorials, monitor progress, and provide high‑quality learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
* Develop Curriculum & Resources – Create schemes of work, implement innovative teaching materials, and contribute to new course development.
* Ensure Compliance & Quality – Maintain accurate records, meet awarding body standards, uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and participate in IQA processes.
* Engage in Promotion & Professional Growth – Take part in marketing activities, student recruitment, and pursue training and development opportunities.
About You
* Qualifications – Level 3 relevant qualification, GCSE English & Maths (or willingness to achieve), and commitment to gaining teaching and assessor/verifier credentials.
* Teaching & Industry Expertise – Recent experience delivering and assessing motor vehicle programmes, strong subject knowledge, and ability to apply current industry developments.
* Commitment to Equality & Safeguarding – Understanding of EDI principles, safeguarding responsibilities, and ability to maintain professional boundaries with learners.
* Skills & Attributes – Excellent organisation, interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to work to deadlines, and create a welcoming, supportive environment for students.
