We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Grievance Manager in our HR Operational Team – Case Management. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the team/Department you will be joining:

Working within the Case Management Team in the HR Department you will be responsible for the investigation, resolution and documentation of grievances raised by members of staff in accordance with ACAS Code of Practice on Discipline and Grievance procedures.

You will be expected to address internal workplace complaints in a proportionate confidential and timely manner, promoting a sense of organisational justice as well as individual and organisational learning here at South Wales Police.

About the role and your key responsibilities :

* Investigate complaints as directed by the Assistant Director of HR and Grievances in line with the South Wales Police Grievance Policy.
* Plan and conduct grievance investigations, including interviews and evidence gathering.
* Advise Senior Managers on the Grievance Procedure
* Prepare detailed investigation reports with findings and recommendations
* Liaise with Joint Legal Services when necessary, ensuring compliance with Employment legislation and ACAS Code of Practice on Discipline and Grievance Procedures

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

* You must be able to advise Senior Managers, on all stages of the Grievance Policy.
* You must have high emotional intelligence and be able effectively to handle sensitive situations.
* You must have experience of advising, negotiating and influencing.
* You must have proven interpersonal and persuasive skills.
* You must have experience in investigating and resolving complex and contentious complaints.
* You must have proven interviewing, report writing and analytical skills.
* You must be able to communicate and present information effectively to a wide range of people, utilising core communication skills.
* You must have a good knowledge and understanding of ACAS Code of Practice on Discipline and Grievance Procedures and Force policies and procedures.
* You must demonstrate sufficient HR experience to deliver a professional

HR service particularly in the areas of discipline, conflict resolution, attendance management, recruitment and selection and policy creation.

* You must demonstrate a sound understanding of employment legislation.
* You must have experience of change management.
