About the Role
An established, fast-growing, family-owned business in the equipment sector is seeking a Sales & Marketing Trainee / Administrator to join its commercial team. This is a hands-on development role designed to build the foundations for a long-term career in sales, marketing, and customer development.
Duties:
·Manage incoming sales enquiries, qualify leads, and ensure timely follow-up
·Support customer engagement activities, including scheduling calls, visits, and product demonstrations
·Assist in preparing quotations, sales documentation, and commercial follow-ups
·Contribute to marketing activity, including brochures, product sheets, and campaign materials
·Support digital marketing campaigns and help track lead performance and conversion
·Coordinate trade shows, exhibitions, and live demonstration events (logistics, suppliers, setup)
·Attend site visits, customer demos, and operational environments to build product knowledge
·Rotate through operational departments (engineering, assembly, service) for technical understanding
·Maintain CRM records, update pipelines, and assist with reporting
·Support general administrative and commercial tasks as required
Training & Progression:
·0–3 months: Induction, product immersion, CRM training, shadowing senior sales activity
·3–12 months: Increasing responsibility for lead management, marketing support, and customer engagement
·12–36 months: Field exposure, territory support, and progression towards Sales Executive responsibilities
·Ongoing mentoring from senior management with regular performance reviews and development planning
·Opportunities for travel, including occasional international exposure, as the role develops
Criteria:
Open to both graduates and individuals with strong practical or industry experience. The ideal candidate will be:
·Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
·Strong communicator with good organisational ability
·Comfortable working in both office and field environments
·Interested in machinery, engineering, agriculture, transport, or industrial sectors
·Computer literate and willing to develop CRM and digital marketing skills
·A full driving licence is desirable, with a willingness to travel locally and occasionally further afield
