About The Team RELX operates a global treasury team supporting the RELX business operations and providing advice and expertise on treasury matters including: Treasury Advisory – providing local support for RELX operating businesses Treasury Transactions – cash management and derivative dealing (primarily FX & Interest rates) Funding – short- and long-term intercompany lending and third party financing Treasury Accounting – reporting and forecasting finance costs, debt and derivatives The majority of the Treasury team members are located in Sutton and Central London (UK) with smaller Treasury teams in Newton (Boston, USA) and Dublin (Ireland). The Newton team are responsible for certain treasury activities in the US and Canada, the Dublin team are responsible for certain treasury activities in the EEA (European Economic Area). RELX Finance Ltd in the UK is at present the main internal treasury company for RELX. About The Role This role is the junior position within the Sutton-based Back Office team and will report to the Head of Back Office & IT. The Back Office Analyst works with the Back Office Senior Manager to ensure that all treasury activities are settled in an accurate and timely manner and ensures that all the dealing activities are properly approved (escalating issues to the Head of Back Office & IT when appropriate). Responsibilities Ensuring proper authorization and compliance of treasury deals and payments Providing electronic confirmations and maintaining files for treasury transactions Running control reports, preparing payments, and executing electronic payments. Ensuring all payments are made and received on correct value date by daily bank reconciliation Ensuring counterparties confirm deals and releasing CP in electronic system Performing compliance reporting and maintaining databases Keeping derivatives and long term debt reset rates up to date in the Treasury Management System Maintaining files for commercial paper and for all foreign exchange contracts and payment advices to be sent to affiliated companies. Assisting in various administrative tasks and Fides Maintenance. Requirements Possess a solid foundation of experience working in a financial environment. Be experienced in working with complex multinational corporate environments Be familiar with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) Have proficiency in foreign language(s) is an advantage.
