Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated health care support worker to join our award winning stroke service.
Service Context
Over the past 20 years stroke care has changed dramatically. Stroke is now treated as a medical emergency, where time is brain, and our service has developed to reflect this. Our service admits patients aged 18 upwards and is delivered by a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, including research staff, that provides evidence-based patient-centered care along our stroke pathway, from admission through to discharge to the community.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct patient care, focusing on the specific needs of each individual.
* Perform all aspects of personal care, adhere to Infection Prevention policies, and maintain general cleanliness and tidiness on the ward.
* Maintain effective communication with patients, their relatives, and professional colleagues.
* Work under the direct supervision and support of a Registered Nurse.
Training & Development
There is a comprehensive training academy available upon joining and a mandatory training package to support the development of your clinical skills. Annual stroke-specific training is also offered to support the needs of our patient group.

Important Information
Interviews for this position will be held in person only at York Hospital. Remote interviews will not be available.
Due to current Home Office guidelines, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
This role is not eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses.
You must be able to attend a full-time induction programme for the first 4 weeks in your new role, within 3 months of your interview date.
