Job Description
Location: Cyber Centre of Excellence, Maidenhead. On-site presence required at least 3 days a week.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary projects across systems engineering lifecycle—from requirements to delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong Defence Technology background with proven experience managing complex technical projects in a structured environment.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain SC level security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end project delivery across software, firmware, and hardware domains.
* Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, procurement, and external partners.
* Ensure adherence to systems engineering processes in collaboration with Engineering Project Lead.
* Manage risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
* Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and senior leadership.
* Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and quality standards.
* Drive continuous improvement in project practices.
* Identify and develop opportunities for contract growth.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience managing projects in IT, engineering, or technology sectors.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle models.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile).
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience interfacing with government customers and managing contracts.
* Leadership and team coordination abilities.
* Proficiency with project management tools like MS Project, Jira, Confluence.
* Experience in shaping and delivering proposals for new or existing contracts.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
* Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM).
* Experience in defence, aerospace, or regulated industries.
* Experience managing projects involving software, firmware, hardware integration.
* Experience with physical production and product lifecycle support.
