A client of ours in the Chelmsford area are recruiting a Bookkeeper to join their team immediately. This is a full-time temporary position working Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm, paying a negotiable salary, on a 3-month contract with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
Your key duties in this Bookkeeper role will include but are not limited to:
* Managing purchase and sales ledgers with Xero accounting software.
* Maintaining accurate financial records and processing invoices.
* Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting month-end.
* Handling VAT returns and credit control.
* Manage accounts payable, including processing payments and reconciling statements.
* Conduct regular audits of financial data to ensure accuracy.
* Supporting the MD with general office and admin duties.
Skills and experience required to be considered for this role:
* Proven bookkeeping/accounts experience.
* Strong knowledge of purchase & sales ledgers.
* Experience with Xero accounting software.
* Good Excel and reporting skills.
* Understanding of a manufacturing environment (advantageous).
* Available immediately.
