The role:
As a Equipment Support Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. you will help drive one of the most essential capabilities within the UK’s defence and nuclear enterprise. This is a role where every decision you make contributes directly to national security, fleet readiness and the safe delivery of fuel handling operations on some of the world’s most advanced submarine platforms.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Managing and planning the full spectrum of fuel‑handling programme activities.
2. Leading the fuel handling support team to ensure equipment, tooling and materials are available when required.
3. Overseeing all task‑specific documentation and quality records for accuracy and compliance.
4. Coordinating procurement activities to meet programme timelines.
5. Controlling the storage, maintenance and availability of fuel-handling equipment and materials.
Please note that this position involves working within Radiological Areas. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights.
This is a full‑time, 35‑hours‑per‑week position based onsite in Plymouth, Devon. Hybrid working patterns are available with three-four days working onsite.
Essential experience of the Equipment Support Manager:
6. Knowledge of logistics and store control processes.
7. Experience directing and managing industrial or non‑industrial staff
Qualifications for the Equipment Support Manager:
8. Level 3 Qualification in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
9. Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations- Desirable
10. Project Management qualification – Desirable
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / NNPPI / Atomic security clearance for this role.
