Electrical Supervisor – 12-Month FTC (Potential to Go Permanent) Location: Barrow upon Humber Salary: £55,000 Tonnage Bonus Overtime Hours: 12-hour shifts | 180-hour monthly contract (overtime paid over this) Are you an experienced electrical supervisor looking for a role where you can be both hands-on with complex kit and a key decision-maker driving operational standards? Key Responsibilities Support the Engineering Manager in overseeing electrical operations on site. Lead, mentor, and support the electrical team in a busy automated bulk handling environment. Take a hands-on role maintaining cranes, control panels, PLCs, and wider electrical/C&I systems. Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required, working alongside the mechanical lead to ensure continuity and safety. Supervise and coordinate contractors, third-party engineers, and cross-functional teams. Drive and maintain high Health & Safety standards, with a strong focus on compliance and environmental responsibilities. Oversee planned preventative maintenance, asset management, and electrical compliance activities (PAT testing, emergency lighting, statutory inspections). Keep accurate records – including maintenance logs, defect reports, spare parts inventory, and risk assessments. Support continuous improvement projects and site investment initiatives, ensuring reliability and efficiency across electrical operations. Act as a key point of contact for electrical engineering matters, contributing to operational excellence. About You Experienced Electrical Supervisor (or similar senior role) in an industrial or automated setting. Strong technical background with cranes, control panels, and ideally PLC/C&I systems. AP12 qualification is a bonus. Proven leadership skills – able to manage and develop a team in a high-demand environment. Confident decision-maker, comfortable deputising for senior management when required. Strong awareness of Health & Safety and Environmental compliance. Proactive, hands-on, and driven to make improvements. Flexible approach to shift and weekend work as part of the rota.
