Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: Up to £60,800 through performance-related bonuses
An Exciting Opportunity in a New Residential Setting
A newly established four-bed children’s residential home is seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Manager to lead the service. This role requires a professional with at least two to three years of management experience in a children’s care environment, supporting young people (11–17) who may present with complex or challenging behaviours.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to creating a nurturing, structured, and positive home environment where young people can achieve their full potential. Collaboration with external professionals and partner agencies will be an essential part of the role, ensuring the highest possible standards of care and support.
Role Overview
The Registered Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, development, and daily operations of the home. This includes the strategic planning of services, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for all young residents.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing effective leadership and direction for the staff team.
* Maintaining high standards of care in accordance with statutory regulations and organisational policies.
* Overseeing all aspects of service delivery, including supervision, mentoring, and professional development of staff.
* Ensuring that individual care plans are tailored to meet each young person’s needs.
* Promoting a culture of safeguarding, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should possess:
* A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* A minimum Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People.
* Demonstrable experience in managing and supporting staff teams.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* A thorough understanding of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, The Children Act 1989, and relevant safeguarding legislation.
Working Pattern and Benefits
Although contracted for 40 hours per week, the Registered Manager will be expected to organise their schedule flexibly to meet the needs of the service, which may include evening, weekend, or night work.
