The post is part funded through a European Respiratory Society Clinical Research Collaboration which will develop agreed, evidence-based definitions for respiratory diseases and outcomes, supported by global expert consensus to enable consistent use of real-world data in research and clinical trials. You will also work with the UK LLC data to undertake research in chronic respiratory disease, exploring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and in doing so create harmonised definitions for use across UK LLC data sources.
What you would be doing
You will utilise large datasets of linked electronic health records and carry out data management and analyses of these data. You will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals, prepare study reports and present the findings. You may also contribute to other projects within the group. This position would suit an early career data/epidemiology scientist with an interest in further career advancement who is interested in applying for future funding.
What we are looking for
* A first / masters degree (or equivalent) in Statistics, epidemiology or other relevant quantitative discipline.
* Knowledge of using electronic healthcare record data to study respiratory disease.
* Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) for a fixed-term contract for 12 months. Proposed start: August 2026.
