We are currently looking for a full-time PBS worker/ABA tutor who can provide one to one support for 2-3 of our current clients in and around Birmingham and surrounding areas.
For this position, you must have a car and a valid driving licence.

The job role
The job role involves applying effective interventions called Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Positive Behaviour Support and Speech and language therapy to children and young people with Autism, Developmental language delay, and learning disabilities.
ABA is based on the theory of operant conditioning to teach children a variety of skills including cognitive skills, language skills, self-help skills, academics etc. ABA programme breaks goals into small steps which the child completes with the help of a team of ABA tutors and a Consultant Behaviour Analyst.
The role involves 1:1 work within a small team that meet once every month. You will help a child/young person gain skills and you will gain experience with recording data, enhancing your communication skills, and gain a lot of experience working with children with a range of needs.
Candidates must have a friendly fun personality, driving is essential and you must be willing to travel. We are looking for people who are able to use their initiative and enjoy working with children. The job requires a high amount of energy and enthusiasm to ensure the children stay motivated.
Responsibilities
Improving the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities/ difficulties.
* Working 1:1 with children and young people with ASD, DLD and LD in their homes, schools and community.
* Supporting families and schools to deliver 1:1 for their children
* Taking day-to-day data to support progress
Desired experience
* RBT qualification
* Experience as a Speech, Occupational therapist assistant
* Experience as a teaching/ learning support assistant
Essential experience
* Have at least 12 months working with children or young people with a learning difficulty
* Previous experience as an ABA tutor or PBS support worker
Essential skills
* Must be able to drive, own a car and have a valid driving licence
* Speak and write in fluent English
* Proactive and able to use own initiative
* Can work independently
* Can use Microsoft programs (Word and Excel)
* Be willing to undergo a DBS check and complete safeguarding training
* Creative and able to work with a range of learning needs
Desired education
* Degree and or a diploma in psychology, health and or social sciences
* Essential education
* 5 GCSE's must include maths and English-grade D and above.
Contract and Pay
The starting salary for this role is £23,810. The after probation salary is £24,570. The position comes with full statutory benefits (statutory sick pay, statutory maternity/paternity pay, 28 days paid holiday etc). Each candidate has the potential to progress from the starting point of a trainee Speech & Behaviour Specialist to a Senior SBS.
Travel
You must have a car and be based in or willing to travel to client locations around Birmingham and Wolverhampton.
Clinical Supervision
* 60 min supervision every 4 weeks
* Support progress through the SBS performance assessment
* Feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
* Comprehensive 18-month training programme
* All SBS' are entered onto the Headstart Training programme
* Skill specific and ABA, PSB and SaLT focused.
* Mentor/ Line manager for on going support.

Refresher Training
* You will receive a refresher and ongoing training during our quarterly team training days.
RBT Qualification
* If you stay with the company for 12 months you will be entered into the RBT qualification course free of charge. (you will be expected to stay with the company for an additional 18 months)
Uniform
* You will receive a t-shirt and lanyard to wear when working with our company.
* You receive a reinforcer bag which you should take with you when you work.
* We will also arrange a reinforcer exchange with other Specialists during the refresher training times.
