BCP Salary Band 5 – appointments will be made at the starting point of the salary range. The salary shown is pro-rated based on a 35 hour working week from the full-time equivalent.
The position is for 35 hours per week to be worked between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Monday to Friday, term time plus INSET days (39 weeks per year).

Our Linwood Campus, based in Alma Road Winton, has a busy reception office which supports our students, families and staff on a day to day basis; we are seeking a Reception Administration Officer to work alongside another experienced colleague.
The successful candidate will administer the reception and administrative functions of the campus under the direction of our Operations Manager and Deputy Headteacher and is fully office based. This is a real opportunity for someone who wants to have a hands-on approach to their work on a day-to-day basis whilst being part of a wider, supportive administration team across the school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a full range of administrative support in line with the role profile, which includes daily communication with the Deputy Headteacher and Assistant Headteachers as well as Teachers and parents to ensure the smooth and effective running of Linwood Campus.
Your strengths will lie in good communication and problem-solving skills with high quality, accurate administrative experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Being a key part of our safeguarding processes to control access to the campus – including checking in agency staff, signing in visitors and making sure they are escorted.
* Taking phone calls/emails/in-person requests and triaging them to resolve enquiries or route them to the appropriate person for support.
* Maintaining accurate records – including daily student register processes, daily staffing support, school lunch bookings, minibus bookings etc.
* Contacting class teams to support some of our students as they arrive/leave school.
* Taking in deliveries/liaising with the Premises Team to redistribute.
* Communications to parents – calls home if a student is absent without explanation, letters about school trips, emails publicising special events and opportunities etc.
* Supporting colleagues with emergency situations – calling an ambulance, providing registers during a fire evacuation etc.
Requirements:
* GCSE level qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Experience of providing administrative support service.
* Knowledge of a range of systems, processes and procedures, ideally also school Management Information Systems.
* Knowledge of IT packages including Outlook, Word and Excel and confidence in a digital approach to working.
* Ability to communicate in a polite and efficient manner – by phone, email and in person.
* Ability to reprioritise tasks according to need and urgency.
* Knowledge of administration within schools is desirable, ideally special schools.
