We seek a highly motivated individual to join as Associate Director, Indirect Procurement, responsible for leading and developing the procurement team.
Job Summary
As Oxford Nanopore aims for high growth, the Indirect procurement team will be key to success by managing supplier performance, improving operational efficiency, and supporting cost management by reducing TCO. The role includes providing procurement support, developing category strategies aligned with company and industry changes, and integrating sustainability into sourcing and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the procurement team, set KPIs, coach, and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, IT, Marketing, Facilities, HR, and Legal to align goals and manage risks.
* Drive source-to-pay excellence through digitalization, streamline workflows, automate transactions, and utilize analytics for spend visibility.
* Identify value opportunities, improve performance, and drive organizational change.
* Work with ESG and Risk teams to assess and manage risks, and improve sustainability across supply chains.
* Create dashboards to track savings, compliance, supplier performance, and other metrics.
* Manage procurement processes ensuring optimal TCO without compromising quality or delivery.
* Develop strategies for procurement within regulatory frameworks.
* Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contractual performance metrics.
* Research potential suppliers, monitor market trends, and improve supplier development.
* Perform other duties as required.

Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, be self-motivated, and experienced in purchasing in a fast-paced environment. Education to BSc in Business Management or Supply Chain Management / CIPS certification is preferred, with experience in manufacturing, chemicals, mechanical parts, or electronics. Skills in data analysis, contract management, negotiation, and influencing are essential, along with strong communication and relationship-building abilities. Commercial and financial acumen are also important.
