We require everyone to be fully flexible across all shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, nights and bank holidays.
Please note, this role does not currently meet the salary requirement for certificate of sponsorship. From the 9th April 2025, the minimum salary required for a Skilled Worker visa became £25,000 per year.
Key Responsibilities
* Work alongside a registered nurse to provide nursing care and support patients with daily living tasks, including washing, toileting (hygiene & continence) and meal assistance.
* Assist with mobility needs and provide pressure area care.
* Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
* One‑to‑one observation for patients who are high risk due to clinical condition.
* Ensure the ward environment is clean and safe, preventing infection and falls.
* Take and record patients’ vital signs, identify and escalates changes to the registered nurse.
* In some clinical areas, competently perform additional clinical skills such as ECGs, venepuncture and simple dressings as required by the ward.
* When competent, train and support new and junior team members, including student nurses.
Requirements
* Fully flexible across all shift patterns (days, nights, weekends and bank holidays).
* No previous experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical demands in an acute inpatient setting.
* Physical stamina for long shifts (12 hours) including standing for extended periods and assisting patients with limited mobility.
Hours and Availability
Working hours: 37.5 hrs per week (full time) or 23 hrs per week (part time). Long shifts (12 hours) will include days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
