Powder Coater
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coater to join their production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, coating, and curing a wide range of metal parts using powder-coating equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare metal surfaces by sanding, grinding, masking, and cleaning parts to ensure proper adhesion.
2. Set up, operate, and maintain powder-coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ovens.
3. Apply powder coatings evenly and according to specifications, ensuring consistent thickness and coverage.
4. Monitor curing times and oven temperatures to meet quality and safety standards.
5. Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, thin coverage, contamination, or improper curing.
6. Perform colour changes and maintain accurate documentation of materials used.
7. Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with safety regulations.
8. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report maintenance needs as required.
9. Follow production schedules and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications:
10. Previous experience in powder coating, painting, or industrial finishing preferred.
11. Familiarity with electrostatic equipment and curing ovens.
12. Ability to read job orders, specifications, and technical instructions.
13. Strong attention to detail and quality control.
14. Ability to lift and move parts.
15. Understanding of workplace safety practices (PPE, ventilation, material handling).
16. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Working Hours:
17. Standard working hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm.
18. Overtime available as and when required.
Working Conditions:
19. Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
